Orlando - Next Stop ... Soweto Vol. 3: Giants, Ministers And Makers: Jazz In South Africa 1963-1984

The final volume of the Next Stop... Soweto series focuses on the South African jazz scene. This week's free song of the week is from Dennis Mpale, a trumpet player who performs with seveal the outfits featured on Next Stop... Soweto Vol. 3. He was a very sought after player who entered the scene shortly after Hugh Maskela and worked with Abdullah Ibrahim, Jonas Gwangwa and Kippe Moeketski amongst others. "Orlando" comes from an album under his own name, and is a tribute to his township.
